Blinkist: Book Summaries Daily App Reviews

Just what Ive been looking for!

I am an avid reader and read mostly non-fiction. This service has allowed me to exponentially increase the information I can access. It gives a detailed synopsis of the pertinent information while leaving enough intrigue to decide to pursue the whole book if it really grabs your interest. This really allows you to spend time with the books you find most interesting while allowing you to gain the important knowledge from all the others you may give up on or never pick up to begin with. This service is amazing and worth every penny. Thank you!

Amazing app

I have been looking for an app like this for a long time now . Thanks to the creators. I hope they keep the library always updated other then that this app is amazing . The summaries are really well done.

Sublime

If you like your juice quickly, then this is the fruit blender for you! Enjoy best seller title summaries

Great resource

Tons of books in 15 min!

A great habit to start

The hardest part of blacklist was incorporating it into my morning routine which was strictly a "me" issue. But once I completed that I began to enjoy the benefits of continuous learning. Great product!

A Top Ten app

I average "reading" a book a day now that Blinkest has become my favorite way to absorb the vast library I was never going to find time to read. I prefer to listen to my chosen book blinks in the car, while walking, during meal prep, while eating (I live alone), before bed... I paid more for the full app than Ive ever even considered for any other. I consider it well worth the investment and a bargain compared to buying actual books, even e-books, that languish unread on my nightstand and in my iPad. I am truly a satisfied customer.

Blinkst App Review

Currently two books in and thankful for the app. I hope this app continues.

Gotta have it

I love it! Just need every book ever written and the audio for them.

Most valuable app on my phone

Im an app developer and its a little too hard to impress me with an app. Blinkist is a perfect app in every essence. Phenomenal job guys!

The 80/20 of the best nonfiction

Saves me so much time reading!

Misleading and expensive

Not a straightforward app. It is a yearly cost of approx $75 yearly to predigest a limited number (mostly self help & business) of titles. Unimpressive.

Crack for a learning junkie

You can digest a book on the way to work

Outstanding

Blinkist gives me the information I need to assess nonfiction materials I can recommend for my cohorts. It has proven invaluable.

Latest versions for iPhone 4S are annoying

I have to tap the screen of my iPhone 4S (9.3.1) dozens of times to see the whole content of each blink as it is not correctly displayed. I wish the dark background with white fonts reading mode was as dark as the invert colors version of the iPhone

Im consuming nonfiction again

I have trouble with most nonfiction books. They spend the first few chapters selling you on a concept, then the next several on the concept itself. Finally, they recap over and over. This is how Ill consume these kinds of books from now on. Its easy to buy the book if you really want more detail, so theres no downside.

Great app, steep price

You can access most books much cheaper either online, in ebook format, or borrowing from friends. I get that this company probably has high costs in order to get the rights to the books but I dont think anyone is trying to pay 80+/year for an app.

Amazing

Just what I needed at the moment to gain the insights of at least 52 books before the end of the year.

Love it

Blinkist is a great way to get the core message of a book. They do a great job summarizing and keeping it brief but still feeling like you "got it." I also enjoy blinking books Ive already read as a refresher. I love syncing my highlights with Evernote! The service will only get better by working out kinks and adding more titles.

Great App and Service if you just want / need the big picture

While there may be other places on the web that you can find book summaries and blog articles that tend to offer the same overview of non-fiction books that you would get with the "blinks" in this app, I find having it all together in this clean interface is very appealing. Im one that likes to read and learn things outside in -- meaning that Id rather have an overview of everything offered in a book before I dive into details. It allows me to see if learning more about something that is worth my time. Time and again, I would read covers of books and buy them, only to be bored with mundane details. While I would still like to read books, I want to be very selective about the books I read while still getting the main idea from other books that have valuable information to other. Whats most impressive about Blinkist is that they have a very large library of titles that they thoughtfully and very carefully summarize for you. It makes so much information feel more accessible while filtering out fluff that I may not have time to read. Also, in trying to abstain from social media and still consume information in small pieces (either reading in line in the supermarket or listening to in my car on the way to work) I find Blinkist to be a godsend. Thank you very much for providing this service.

Very good app for concentration
